Happy post-father’s day! Darrin and I spent our Sunday celebrating our dads and eating a whole lot of grilled meat (cue angelic halleluiahs). Our weekend of partying and grilling with family will continue tonight, thanks to my sister and her great birthday ideas. She turns twenty today (cue holy ****!!s), and her idea to grille tonight on the porch while watching the Women’s World Cup proves that she’s already got a brilliant, twenty-year-old mind. So let the weekend festivities continue! Happy birthday Sophie!
Here are a few less-than-graceful moments from the past week!
- Literally bumping into a couple making out against the front door to my apartment complex. Don’t mind me, kids….just trying to get my mail. Carry on. I guess. Maybe Windex your face oils off the window, if you get the chance.
- Darrin and I have had a number of date nights playing our new Donkey Kong video game [hashtag romance], and my impeccable “button mashing” skills have caused a small callous to form on my left thumb. Which is super cool to the gaming community and super dorky to the rest of the world. My name is Grace. I’m getting my Masters in English Literature, and I spend my free time saving Donkey Kong kingdom from a giant, evil crocodile. [Can you get a callous from holding a book too hard? Maybe I’ll go with THAT story.]
- Darrin and I started our summer workout regimen for the fifth time this morning. Because you know what they say, the fifth time’s the charm…right?
- Our dinners for the past week have consistently been some variation of the taco: taco bowls, taco salads, burrito bowls, taco salads again…I even went to the grocery store to stock up for the week and could only think of buying taco ingredients. I left with ground beef, salsa, lettuce, and Mexican style cheese. Somebody make me a bowl of Italian spaghetti STAT. This taco kick is getting out of control.
Have any less-than-graceful moments of your own?? Hmm? 😉
Happy you stopped by!
