Out with the May and in with the June! A new month filled with grad parties, birthdays, and sunshine! Darrin and I celebrated two of our cousins graduating from high school over the weekend. And there’s nothing like a graduation to make you feel older than you would’ve like to feel on a happy Sunday afternoon. I may have ordered myself a kid’s meal from McDonald’s on our way home just to console myself.
But anyways. Less-than-graceful moments!
- Opening the door to our community laundry room and quite literally smacking that door riiiiight into the rear end of another tenant, bending over his basket of dirty clothes. Awkward Hellos, Excuse Mes, and Sorry About Thats most definitely ensued. And yes, even a few hearty pity laughs.
- Locking yourself out of your apartment in the middle of a thunderstorm and having to run around the entire complex in the rain, wearing a pair of fuzzy socks on your feet and a lazy day look that would have made any if not all fashion bloggers wince with embarrassment. Good times, Minneapolis weather. Thanks for the muddy memories.
- Trying to “look cool” while standing around your car after it refuses to start in the middle of a high school parking lot. We propped open the hood and stood there with our hands in our pockets, rocking back and forth on our heels until help arrived with those blessed tools those in the business like to call “jumper cables.” We might as well have been whistling while we passed the time.
- Looking through your fridge to make dinner and finding that you only have two green peppers, beer, and half a bottle of Caesar salad dressing stocked on one shelf. To the grocery store! But first, to Chipotle! Unless our car doesn’t start. Then beer and green pepper salad it is! Yay domesticity.
Catch ya later, friends! And by later, I actually mean tomorrow.
Have a great Monday!
