Target came through for me {per usual} last week as I hunted down this simple black dress for my sweet cousin’s bachelorette party. When you’re forced to be “that person” who has to run to Target a day or two before the event because she {surprisingly} lacks a simple black dress suitable for a night on the town, you’re happy with almost anything and everything Target has to offer. This fun little number was hiding in a rack of cozy sweaters {which might be why I can’t find it online!}, so I snatched it and decided to brave the very real possibility of my dress unzipping throughout the course of the night. Much to Darrin’s relief, that didn’t happen. So two thumbs up for sturdy front zippers!

My sister and I had such an awesome time celebrating our cousin’s last few weeks of single life. We had a rockin’ dinner downtown at this restaurant with strangely designed bathrooms. I’m pretty confident that the place was trying to give off an “edgy” vibe, but I’ll admit that the whole “co-ed sinks and hand drying stations” were just a bit confusing. I left my bathroom stall to wash my hands and had a brief “did I just walk into the wrong restroom?!” moment when a gentleman still rocking the argyle sweater vest trend decided to wash his hands next to me. It was edgy. And briefly confusing. But at least our hands were clean! 😉

The entire evening was filled with lots of laughs, pretty shades of lipstick, and fun conversations with some awesome women. One of my cousins is an amazing mom to two beautiful baby girls, another is kicking some major academic butt in Chicago, and the future bride recently rocked law school and is currently conquering the lawyer world one day at a time. Talk about some major girl power, am I right?

I came home and found Darrin asleep on the couch, surrounded by pistachio shells, paperwork, coffee mugs, and Kleenex boxes {quite the assortment}. He groggily told me that I looked nice, randomly noted that we were out of toothpaste, and then plopped himself onto the bed. A fun night out and a compliment from a semi-conscious Darrin? I’ll take it! 🙂

I hope you have a great rest of your day! Shop some sweet zipper dresses and faux leather jackets below!

Such a fun dress–it looks warm and chic! And that bathroom just sounds awkward! Glad the party went so well though! -Anne

Ah I’m with you! The struggle to make it though Target without buying a new outfit is REAL. 😛

I am digging the hardware — from the zipper dress to the chain bag. It’s a great balance of hard & soft. :] // ☼ ☯

Thanks so much! It’s always so fun to channel my inner “biker chic” and rock a lot of zippers and leather. Now all I need is a motorcycle… 😉
