Fun little fact for ya (or maybe just a regular old fact for ya): if you ever find yourself wandering through downtown Minneapolis during the early morning hours of the day, hoping to find a cool spot to snap a few blog pictures and maybe enjoy a cup of coffee with your husband, the streets right outside the Gutherie Theatre are completely abandoned. And the view overlooking the Mississippi River is hashtag amazing with a hearts for eyes smiley face. This red wall right outside the theatre served as a nice backdrop to feature my new favorite spring skirt from Ruche. I don’t own a lot of floral, folks. I usually equate busy floral patterns with old grandmas who play BINGO and wear too much perfume. But it’s spring! And I’ve been feeling a little twitterpated (Bambi throwback!) for some bright colors and happy patterns (and these Lulu*s heels). This comfy skirt is very much a happy pattern.
On a completely unrelated note (as is usually the case around here), Apple just released their redesigned Emoji keyboard, and guess who, among the incredibly vast crowd of different races and cultures now represented in digitalized, smiley-face form, is NOT included? Much to my husband’s frustration?
The redheads! The gingers of this world! The real 1%!
How will I ever depict Darrin accurately through text message?! Sooooo disappointing, Apple. Let’s hope the next software update doesn’t forget the fair of skin but bright of hair…we can only hope.
