Out On the Town

Darrin and I took a little break from the books to enjoy the beautiful and much warmer spring weather the other day. You’d never know from these pictures that Minneapolis is expecting another snowstorm today. We took a little stroll around the neighborhood to stretch our legs, breathe some fresh air, and join the crowds of people that apparently had the same idea….at the same time of day…in the same neighborhood. Northeast Minneapolis was bustling! I forgot that people lived here, ya know? Brutal, horrendous, and bitter Minnesota winters will do that to folks. You could tell that everybody was in a good mood because the weather was in a good mood. Let’s keep these warm temps coming, Minneapolis. Forget all this “snowstorms in April” business.

I spent the entirety of yesterday on the fourth floor of the university library, sifting through musty journals and nineteenth-century newspapers. As fascinating as that research may sound, I found myself going a bit “bug-eyed” after a couple of hours and happy to come home to a pan of freshly baked brownies. No, they didn’t appear magicallyΒ {if onlyright?!} eyes.” I may just leave out theΒ ingredients Β for a cheesecake the next time he’s feeling a little “under the gun”… πŸ˜‰

What do you do to relieve stress? Go for a run? Bake like Darebear? Paint? Write? Treat yourself to a personal Taylor Swift dance party {we’ve all been there, am I right?}? I’m going to need some kind of stress reliever if it does indeed snow 8 inches today. I’ve already packed away my winter clothes, Minnesota. Don’t you make me open up that box until November!

I haven’t yet packed away the winter clothes but I’d love to. Sadly, occasionally snow in April is reality. πŸ™
