Some Mondays arrive with a great sighs of relief for routine schedules and ordinary sleep patterns. We celebrated Darrin’s birthday last Thursday with a quiet night in, eating homemade stroganoff that I didn’t manage to overcook (high five!) and watching our favorite superheroes save the world (again) from some kind of caped villain.
But after our relaxing birthday evening, our weekend took a sudden turn for the busy and we found ourselves running around the Twin Cities each day like the “hip” and “active” millennials we’re supposed to be while visions of sweatpants and slippers and drooling on our living room couch pillows after we fall asleep to Netflix danced in our heads.
An incredibly busy weekend. But a good weekend nonetheless! One spent sharing tater tots and wings at a nearby bar two days in row before we found our seats for the Friday night hockey game and the Saturday afternoon football matchup. Both teams lost, but who cares when there’s tater tots? AND wings?! And then we had the family birthday celebrations that included extra helpings of cake and ice cream and good conversation two days in a row. TWO DAYS IN A ROW.
And though we arrived home each night with sleep heavy on our minds and most noticeably on our eyelids, we both decided before turning off our bedroom lamp that it’s good to have things and people that are worth being busy for.
A weekend running from sporting event to sporting event to family event sure makes for a more interesting story than a weekend doing nothing on the couch.
As heavenly as that sounds right about now. 😉
I hope you have a great Monday! You can shop this coat below!
