Have you met the Crunch Cone? If not, meet the Crunch Cone. A cone of your choice filled with vanilla ice cream and dipped in tiny candies that (you guessed it) crunch as you chew them in your mouth. Growing up, my sisters and I would visit this little ice cream stand after our soccer practices. We’d clomp down the sidewalk in our soccer cleats, our hair pulled back high into fountain ponytails, and we’d debate about ordering a Crunch Cone or a slushie that would stain our mouths a purpley-blue. Just the typical trials and tribulations of an elementary schooler. But the Crunch Cone was a summertime classic. Along with Flintstone Push Pops, Rocket Popsicles, Freezies, and ice cream sandwiches.
[This just in: I consumed a whole lot of freezer junk food as a child]
So. If we could all raise our waffle cones or sugar cones to the Crunch Cone. A candied covered sign that summer has arrived, and it’s melting and dripping all over your hand.
