Thanksgiving Eve!

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes GracefullyIt’s Thanksgiving Eve! I’ve got my warm sweater and these obnoxiously high but surprisingly comfortable heels on, ready to conquer the day! These shoes were an impulse buy during college, so I’ve got to “get my money’s worth,” as Darrin says, and wear them whenever I have the chance. So what better day than Thanksgiving Eve? Bring it on, grocery shopping and rough terrain.

Do you have any fun Thanksgiving traditions? Besides falling asleep during the football game? πŸ˜‰ My family makes the same mealΒ everyΒ year. It’s a meal we only have at Thanksgiving, so it never gets old, but it is definitely the same: turkey, mashed potatoes, green been casserole {with aΒ whole lotΒ of french onion toppings}, stuffing, rolls, ham {we love out meats}, some kind of green salad, and an assortment of pies. Talk about aΒ happyΒ Thanksgiving, right?

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes GracefullyHaving two sisters who also love to shop has consistently drawn me to the craziness that is Black Friday shopping, but I’m not sure if we’ll go super early this year. We may just goΒ shopping, rather than Black Friday wake-up-before-the-crack-of-dawn-and-feel-the-hectic-atmosphere-pump-through-your-veins shopping. But my Dad tends to enjoy the Black Friday frenzy. Not for the deals, but for the opportunities to “get in the way” by grabbing the last Tickle-Me-Elmo or the last Barbie Princess and placing them in wrong sections throughout the store. TheΒ cruelty! πŸ˜‰

What about your Thanksgiving traditions? Are you more of an online shopper like my reserved hubby who hates crowds and anxiety? Do you eat any nontraditional dishes? I have a friend from Pennsylvania who has grown up eating eel on Thanksgiving…I’m not sure if I could do that forΒ anyΒ holiday. Insert stunned-and-slightly-disgusted emoticon face.

I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving Eve and a happy Thanksgiving Day! Safe travels! πŸ™‚
