A Thankful 2014

Sometimes Gracefully Sorel Sometimes Gracefully Sorel 2 Sometimes Gracefully Sorel 1 Sometimes Gracefully Sorel 3 Sometimes Gracefully Sorel 4

Happy New Year’s Eve! I feel like 2014 just flew right on by…graduate classes, a little trip to Paris, proposals, road trips (like this one, or this one, or this one…), date nights, work nights, we-drank-a-little-too-much-espresso-and-are-up-at-3am nights…the list goes on. Sure, we’ve had our fair share of joys and triumphs and loss and grief, but I’m convinced that 2014 has been a year defined by Thankfulness. Thankfulness for family, for friends, for warm dinners, for laughter, for work, for safety, for love…2014 has been both amazing and difficult, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Darrin and I are spending New Year’s Eve tonight with our families, and, because I prefer my New Year’s Eve with a side of fleece pajamas and a comfy couch (a combination that will inevitably cause me to fall asleep by 10), I may be ringing in 2015 tomorrow morning around 9am rather than tonight at midnight. We’ll see. 😉

While the year may be changing tonight, the weather here in Minneapolis sure won’t be. These warm Sorel boots were a Christmas present from Darrin this year (he’s brilliant, no?), and I’ve been wearing them nonstop around the city. Today’s high? 12 degrees. And weather.com tells me that it actually feels like -8. So. Who’s impulsively buying a one way ticket to Hawaii with me? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I hope you have a Happy New Year’s Eve! We’re ready for ya, 2015. Let’s do this.

Oh and P.S. Thank YOU for following this dorky little blog. 2014 has introduced me to a wonderful group of cyber friends and readers that I am so darn thankful to have met. Thanks for letting me ramble about our little life out here in Minneapolis. You ROCK.

LOVE those boots – Joan of Arctic? Maybe? I need to buy new boots (+ a new parka), but so much money for the good stuff to survive in Duluth MN!

Haha I’m down for escaping the cold and going to Hawaii 😉

Happy New Year to you, beautiful!
