My sisters visited home last weekend and I was so stoked to see them. If we were to rate my excitedness on a scale from one to Christmas Day excitement, I’d say I fell pretty darn close to It’s-still-too-early-to -wake-everyone-up-but-it’s-Christmas-morning-and-I’m-just-way-too-excited-to-fall-back-asleep excited. I just love these two too much.
My sisters and I grew up with a mother who loved snapping photos. We’d be crying and fighting moments before the picture, but once my mom had that camera up and ready to go, we’d flash our teary eyed smiles for the sake of the photo album. Of course, not every photo session involved us pulling out hair out moments before. In high school, my dad bought us each a nice camera for Christmas, so we’d be snapping photos with each other all day every day. Naturally, this camera craziness continued into college, and once I found out that Instagram was an actual “thing,” you can bet your bottom dollar we took this cyber opportunity to broadcast our craziness to the world. Thanks for the invite, Instagram.
Things like sisters are always worth celebrating.
I know Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but when you’re thankful, you’re thankful, and you just have to let it spill out.
Of course, I had to capitalize on our little photo moment by taking a few pictures with my other, more reserved, half. Darebear is not the biggest fan of photo sessions, which is unfortunate for two reasons: 1) He’s got the best head of red hair. Who wouldn’t want to capture that?! 2) He married me. Most of the time, he’s a good sport and will humor me with a goofy grin or two. I mean, he had to have known what he was getting himself into, right?
I hope you are having a fantastic Thursday! I’ve got theorists to read, essays to write, and papers to correct. But it’s almost the weekend!
