Darebear’s Super Power Revealed

Sometimes Gracefully

Sometimes Gracefully

First of all, I’m a major fan of this summer “kimono craze.” They’re light-weight, beautifully patterned, and when the wind blows they make me feel like I’m wearing a superhero cape, which, I’ll admit, is somewhat empowering as you’re crossing the street. They also allow me to wear my leggings as “pants” without everybody knowing that I’m actually wearing my leggings as “pants” {you know what I mean…}, so that’s another major bonus. High fives all around for the kimono craze.

Speaking of super powers, Darrin used what I have deemed his “shopping power” to manipulate my trip to the outlet mall the other day. He’s very passionate about avoiding malls and ordering all of his clothing online, which is not necessarily a bad thing…but when you spill cheese and ketchup from your hamburger all over the only pair of nice, khaki shorts that you frequently wear to work, two-day shipping on Amazon just doesn’t cut it. So Darrin begs me to head to the mall and shop for clothes, a burden that I am oh so willing to undertake. The problem arises when it’s not Darebear who needs something new or replaced, but me. I’ll break a pair of sandals or snag a favorite dress and head to the mall with a goal in mind, but I’ll leave with bags of new clothes for Darrin. I’ll head into the Nike outlet store looking for a running jacket but leave with two golf shirts and a new pair of sweatpants for Darebear. I’ll head into DSW hoping to replace my broken pair of sandals but leave with a new pair of dress shoes for my spoiled redhead back home. He scores big every time. Without even trying. Without even being there.

That’s gotta be some kind of super power…

Or maybe I just have trouble focusing on my original shopping goal.

….

Nah.

Looks like I may have to find Darrin a superhero cape…or maybe his own breezy kimono. 😉

Have a great day! The kimono I’m wearing above is by Lush {old}, but I’m loving the ones featured below!

ah, this post was wonderful. jon’s the same way about shopping, and i make it a personal goal of mine to keep that sweet boy well-dressed despite his aversion to all things crowded and/or containing registers 🙂

I picked up 2 silk kimonos from Nicole Richie’s line last summer so glad to see them still in heavy rotation this year! Hoping it’s just one of those “krazes” that become a part of our wardrobes for life! Loving your pick, the light white feels so fresh against the black, chic babe!

    Peace! Love! LOL!
