Polka Dots and Pizza

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

The weather in Minneapolis has been the opposite of wonderful and enjoyable and bearable lately {it was -10 this morning…}, so we’ve been ordering pizza to cope with the bitter cold. Pizza makes every situation better {that’s got to be a proverb of some kind}.Β However, because we’ve been ordering so much pizza, we’ve somewhat neglected our annual grocery shopping routine…and I’ll admit that I’ve been “at peace” withΒ our avoidance of the grocery store.Β There’s so many whining children and slow-moving check-out lines. And, I mean, it’s negative freaking 10 degrees outside. I’m “at peace” with avoiding all of Minnesota nature right now. The darn wind makes everything worse.

Sometimes Gracefully

But enough about the weather. Let’s talk about pizza, because some smart woman just a paragraph ago quoted that wise proverb “Pizza makes every situation better.” I’m pretty plain when it comes to pizza. I’m all about the pepperoni…and not much else. Darrin will eat any kind of pizza you prepare. Especially if it’s free pizza. The man has trouble saying no to free pizza. Who can blame him? Due to my domestic wife laziness and my sometimes refusal to cook, Darebear practically bleeds marinara sauce. It’s all he chooses to prepare when dinner is a “on your own” kind of night. Frozen pizzas are our “lazy dinner” go-tos.

I recently tried a few slices of buffalo chicken pizza, and now I can’t get enough of the spicy buffalo sauce and chicken combination. It was so good, and I’m starting to rethink my entire “pepperoni pizza is the only way to go!” mentality. I may have buffalo “something” every night next week. Or I may just chug a bottle of the spicy buffalo sauce whenever I have a craving.

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Maybe Most definitely not. But I’m definitely having a “if we were in middle-school, I’d give you my last mechanical pencil” kind of love for buffalo chicken right now. It’s real, you guys. πŸ˜‰

What are your pizza favorites? It’s such an old classic, but there are so many different ways to “dress up” your pizza! I’m branching out, you guys! I need some more mouth-watering pizza suggestions! πŸ˜‰

Also, I shared some cute polka dot pieces below! Happy Thursday!

I love pizza and buffalo flavored things are pretty good, I definitely go in spurts with that though. The most recent buffalo flavored thing was soup! Take your basic chicken noodle soup recipe and add 1/4 cup buffalo sauce and be amazed!!!

What a great name for a pizza place! I haven’t heard of “pig ate my pizza”….most definitely have to add that to the list! We’re pretty boring and order from Dominoes… but I love their hand-made crust!

The weather is the same here in Ontario. Every night I go home, all I want to do is eat popcorn, pizza or a grilled cheese. I forced myself to make something with lots of vegetables last night instead of just a carb and cheese overload.

I used to go to this wonderful pizza place and these were my two favourite pizzas: 1) tomato sauce, spicy capicollo, red onion, black olives, basil, sundried tomato, cow feta, mozzarella, 2) Roasted garlic panna (or just mash up some roasted garlic and spread it on the pizza as a thin layer of “sauce” with a little olive oil), wild boar sausage and salami, rapini, fontina, chili oil
