Some Nerd-mance For Your Tuesday.

So these chunky ban.do bobbi pins are my new favorite hair accessory {now on SALE!}. Who doesn’t love a bobbi pin that 1) doesn’t fall out of your hair, and 2) comes in a variety of rockin’ colors and sparkles?! No one, I tell you. No. One. And yes, I bought two. The struggle to find amazing hair pieces that stay in place is real, friends. Thankfully, there’s ban.do.

But anyways.

Darrin and I ventured to the university over the weekend for an exciting day of office organizing and research. Darrin stepped outside, felt the blanket of humidity covering Minneapolis, and said, “Let’s bike!” {ugh, murmured his wife}. So we threw on our backpacks and helmets and maneuvered our way through the construction zone that has become the University of Minnesota’s campus. At one point, Darrin even carried my bike down two flights of stone steps because the bike path we needed was conveniently closed. Three cheers for road construction! Said no one ever.

We reached Darrin’s office building sweaty, greasy, and dirty – a combination that inspires within me feelings of frustration, exhaustion, and “I don’t want to sit in a confined space and study” fatigue. Darrin sensed my frustration {maybe it was my obnoxious “humph” ing that tipped him off…poor guy}, so he surprised me at the end of the day with a bracelet that he 3D printed for his greasy and obnoxious wife. You might have caught my picture of it over on Instagram. I mean WUT. Science, apparently, prints things in 3D now. Objects…food…organs…it’s insane. Star Trek insane. I’ll let the more scientifically inclined tell you about the crazy future that is the 3D printer. Over here in Minneapolis, my nerdy engineering husband just thought he’d test out the department’s printer by designing a red bracelet for his sweaty wife “humph”ing over in a nearby conference room. What a guy.

So it’s settled then: He’s the best. I’m a dork. And engineers are pretty goll darn romantic nerdmantic.

Happy Tuesday! High fives for science!
