My Basketball Confession

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Darrin snagged some free tickets to the Gopher basketball game tomorrow night, and I’ll confess something to you all: I know nothing about basketball. NothingΒ aside fromΒ that “toss the orange ball into the hoop for points” thing. In high school, when I was trying to win a date with this cute redhead that never noticed me {don’t worry…he eventually became my husband}, I tried researching as much as I could about basketball and baseball and football so that I could start a “cool” conversation with him {you do what you gotta do when you know he’s the one, right?! πŸ˜‰ }…but all that research got me was a bunch of random facts about some sports that I don’t really care too much about {although I’ll admit that football has been growing on me over these past few months…}. Hopefully I’ll become an expert in basketball by the end of tomorrow night’s game! We’ll see. Knowing Darrin and his love for learning, I may have to take a quiz once the game is over…

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Speaking of athleticism and lack thereof, Darrin and I visited the U of MN’s gym yesterday morning. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen the “pre-biking” photo of us decked out in our snow goggles and winter gear.Β Biking in a mini snowstorm is not something I’d recommend. Especially if your bike is super cute and meant for sunny days and pretty dresses. πŸ˜‰ Anyways, the gym had four or five levels bursting with workout equipment {I mean really, how many different “versions” of the treadmill are there?!} and a couple of indoor pools and courts. I may have to pick up squash solely because the U offers members access to a couple of squash courts. And who wouldn’t want to brag about that intense squash match they just won?Β Right?! Right.

I’m excited about this whole “workout with the husband” thing that Darrin and I are starting. We’ve worked out together before, but I’ll admit that his running strides are much larger than mine, so I had a bit of a difficult time keeping up. Maybe I’ll sign us both up for a Zumba class next month! Or a couple of Pilates group sessions! I’ll bet Darebear would love that! πŸ˜‰Β  Anyone else doing anything athletic this new year?

Have a beautiful day! Thanks for reading! πŸ™‚

I’m working on swimming right now! I can swim, but not for distance, so its been quite the experience.

Love the boots! Basketball isn’t as hard to get as say, football, I’m sure you’ll have a great time!

Good luck at the game. Honestly, basketball is one of the easier sports to understand. It’s pretty straight forward. Football seems to be the most complicated!

Love your hair. It is gorgeous. That sweater is so cute and looks so comfortable as well.
I’m with you girl, I know nothing about sports. Clothes I can talk for hours, sports, I am so confused about.

i told jon that i liked baseball on our first date, and his eyes lit up like christmas morning — little did he know that by ‘like’ i meant i went to a game or 2 every year and made small chat with friends under the summer sun. jon follows baseball/football/basketball, so my knowledge is growing, but.. well.. i still have quite a ways to go. we can get there together πŸ™‚
