I bought a bottle of mustard at the grocery store for the first time in my life last week. Not for me, of course. I’m not really a condiments kind of girl. I prefer my mustard as a paint color rather than a hot dog topping. But the husband is a mustard guy, and when you marry a mustard guy, you force your non-mustard-loving self to stand in the condiments aisle and stare with a glazed look in your eye at allllll of the mustard choices that you never thought were possible. Yellow mustard, honey mustard, spicy brown mustard, dijon mustard, hot mustard, English mustard, spicy beer mustard…there were almost more mustard flavors than there were Doritos flavors. Which is darned impressive, if you ask me.
I went with the Yellow mustard. “Yellow” seemed to be a common denominator among all of the mustard flavors, so I thought we’d keep it simple. This outfit, on the other hand, is anything but “simple.” I feel like I should be walking down a yellow (or mustard?) brick road shouting, “Colors and Prints and Patterns! Oh my!”
This skirt is no longer available online, but Ruche recently added this pretty option to their website that you’ve got to check out. It’s the Mary Kate to my skirt’s Ashley. The yin to my skirt’s yang. The Bert to my skirt’s Ernie.
All right I’m done. Promise.
