Meet: Pine Tree Apple Orchard

Pine Tree Apple OrchardWe finally made it to the Pine Tree Apple Orchard last weekend, and it was a marvelous trip! We were a bit too late this season to pick out “the perfect pumpkin.” The little kiddos seemed to have swiped the best ones, but we were content with stocking our cupboards with all things apple: pastries, donuts, cider, caramel apples, jam, pancake mix…the list goes on and on. And it’s one goll darn amazing list. I can tell ya that for sure.

Pine Tree Apple Orchard Pine Tree Apple Orchard Pine Tree Apple OrchardI’ve grown up visiting this little orchard, and fall doesn’t truly feel like fall until you’re bundled in an old sweatshirt, walking through a row of apple trees, munching on an apple donut. No wonder this season is the best. And I love any excuse to eat a bunch of donuts.

Pine Tree offers wagon rides, pony rides, a corn maze, pumpkin patch, and an array of homemade baked goods that scream “Bake me. Your kitchen will smell like paradise.” We made sure we came home with some “legitimate” {according to Darrin} apple cider, and I ate half a row of apple donuts on the car ride home….so you can imagine how long our box of apple pastries lasted over the weekend.

If you can’t guess, the answer is not long at all.

I’m a sweet-apple girl, and, as much as I loved the Sweet Tango, I still think Honeycrisp takes the prize for best tasting apple. You can thank the University of Minnesota for that agricultural success. Way to go, kids. I’ll take one thousand, please.

Pine Tree Apple Orchard Pine Tree Apple Orchard Pine Tree Apple OrchardSorry for the picture overload. And for these obnoxious photos of Darebear and I eating our pastries. Although, I’m not too sorry for those…our apple turnovers were consumed so fast that I might have imagined them entirely, if not for these “graceful” images. Like I said before, we didn’t bring any pumpkins home {which is the usual tendency when visiting the apple orchard}. They were looking a bit sad, and the one pumpkin I wanted was swiped by an eight year old boy wearing a Spiderman shirt. I thought it best not to argue with Spiderman. Or an eight year old.

Anyone else consuming as much pumpkin and apple as they can before fall leaves us {pun definitely intended with the hope you’ll giggle over it} and we get to drink eggnog, eat peppermint bark, and make gingerbread cookies? I sure am. Bring it on, fall flavors. I’m not done with you yet. 🙂

Happy Wednesday!

I feel ya! Fall trees are the best! But I’ll bet your weather in TX is much warmer than ours here in MN! Talk about chilly!
