A Very Literal Hot Mess

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Cozy sweaters have been my jam lately, due to the Minnesota climate and the random cold I seemed to have caught. This cozy one from Forever21 works as both a sweater and a blanket, which is definitely a win-win in my book.

Life “under the weather” has been pretty gloomy, so I’m glad we snapped these photos earlier the other day when I was feeling healthy. Darrin came home from work yesterday and found me sprawled out on our bed, wrapped in my cozy sweater and surrounded by used tissues, literature anthologies, and cough drop wrappers. I’m pretty sure I greeted him with one eye slightly closed due to that itchy feeling you get right before you sneeze. Nothing says “Hey baby, welcome home” like a runny nose, sweaty forehead, and twitchy left eye. If you’re looking for a very literal representation of “hot mess,” look no further than my apartment during cold season.

Darebear gave me some medicine, turned on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and sat next to me as I fell asleep to the sounds of aliens battling starships and destroying the galaxy or something. It was all very dramatic. Luckily E.T. didn’t make an appearance. That’s one alien that most definitely gives me the creeps. Call me a horrible person if you’d like. E.T. freaks me out. Too many childhood nightmares of that little alien hiding in my closet and eating my chocolate.

Thankfully I’m feeling much better today. So good, in fact, that I may even pop open a can of “fancy Grace” and make myself a hot pocket for lunch. That’s as far as my ideas for “fancy lunches” go. Hungry? Hot pocket. Hungry and on-the-run? Hot pocket. Hungry, on-the-run, and don’t have a napkin? Hot pocket. It may not give me points on the “domestic wifely duties” board, but those hot pockets are just too darn good for me to care.

What are you up to this Wednesday? 🙂

P.S. More cozy Forever 21 sweaters below!

I love your sweater because the bottom is a uniform length, so many of the aztec sweaters have extra fabric in the front, which does me no favors 😉

Oh, I want that sweater! I need more cozy sweaters if this weather is going to keep sticking around.

Well you certainly don’t look like a “hot mess”! I love this look, so comfy and cozy. Hope you feel all better soon:)
