I Like You Lots

ILikeYou Sometimes Gracefully ILikeYou Sometimes Gracefully

This lovely and reassuring wall belongs to the sweetΒ i like you shop in Northeast Minneapolis. i like you sells the latest and greatest pieces of art made by local Minnesota artists and crafters, and the little shop is one of the sweetest in Minneapolis. How could it not be, with a rockin’ brick wall like this one?! So if you’re in Northeast Minneapolis andΒ are looking for some great Minnesota art, stop by i like you. There are too many great pieces to buy!

ILikeYou Sometimes Gracefully ILikeYou Sometimes Gracefully ILikeYou Sometimes Gracefully

On our honeymoon to Seattle, Darrin and I made sure to browse the local art fairs and festivals for a couple of pieces that we could bring home from our trip. Buying art from local artists and crafters can be so important, and I treasure the pieces we brought home with us from Seattle. My grandfather is a local watercolor artist who is known for his depictions of Minnesota lakes and boat life. Whenever we visited my grandparents growing up, my grandfather always had large canvases, thick paint brushes, and an array of color palettes ready for my sisters and I to spend the summer afternoon painting on their porch. I like to think that my appreciation for art of all kinds originated on that little porch, sipping lemonade and painting whatever my heart desired.

So I suppose the moral of this post is to go buy some art! Or make art! Or just spend some time today clicking through art galleries! That saying “Earth without ‘art’ is just ‘eh'” has some truth to it, so show the art world some love today in whatever way you can. Eliminate some of that middle-of-the-week “eh”! πŸ˜‰

Have a beautiful day!

P.S. Here are some sweet Minneapolis etsy shops with a few piece of Minneapolis art that I’m loving! : aquahibiscus ; StraySquirrels ; LoganStuckPhoto

A perfect photo location for a perfect outfit …those boots are awesome. I love looking at the art at Goodwill because you never know what gems you will find. I also love prints on Etsy because they’re more affordable than “real” art!
