Happy Monday! Darrin and I sure had ourselves one relaxing weekend. Spent a lot of time with family, spent even more time wishing the spring semester was over, and spent absolutely no time cleaning our tiny apartment. Cleaning is not what weekends are all about, Charlie Brown.
Here are a few less-than-graceful moments from me to you on this dreary Monday morning. Let’s not take ourselves too seriously this week, shall we? 😉
- Being completely buzzed on too much espresso while teaching an undergraduate class sure makes for a memorable experience. A heart racing, hands shaking, neck sweating (that’s weird, right?!) kind of experience. That’s what you get when you wake up before the dawn, down a few espresso shots, and then race to a deserted campus just so you can get the PERFECT parking spot (right smack dab in the front, my friends. TOTALLY WORTH IT).
- Somehow dropping the last mint from my Altoids tin onto the floor of my car while driving. Then stretching and contorting my body at the next red light while keeping my foot on the brake so that I could grab that dangerously powerful mint. And then popping that dusty little Altoid right into my mouth. GARDETTOS, YOU GUYS. That garlic salt is worth combatting with a car-floor Altoid.
- Spring birdies are all fine and cute and dandy until they start chirping their springtime songs at four freaking o’clock in the morning. For at least a full straight hour, I stared at the ceiling and prayed that the springtime bird from Hell would stop chirping his early (SO early) morning tune. You can formally call me “Springtime Scrooge” from now until summer. At least before seven o’clock in the morning.
- Speaking of springtime things, I’ll leave you with this springtime benediction: may your cute date night skirts never blow up uncomfortably and awkwardly high on your evening walks downtown (#woof). You know what you did, Minneapolis wind.
What about your week? Have any less-than-graceful moments of your own?? Have a great rest of your day!
