Less-Than-Graceful Moments!

Sometimes Gracefully Monday 1 Sometimes Gracefully Monday

A happy Monday to you from rainy (YES RAINY!) Minneapolis. We had ourselves a little bout of precipitation over the weekend that thankfully did not transform the Twin Cities back into Narnia. It rained, my friends. RAINED. And I’m hoping that a few more rainy weekends will turn our neighborhood’s brown grass green. Easter green. Spring green. Let’s-Have-a-Picnic-In-the-Park-and-Play-Ultimate-Frisbee green. Anything but the muddy green Minneapolis is currently finding trendy.

Here are a few less-than-graceful moments from the past week!

  1. Walking back to my apartment from our community laundry room at the other end of the hall and discovering the trail of dirty socks and laundry I had unknowingly dropped along the way…always fun to see a pair of underwear lying in front of someone’s apartment and realize that it’s your own. Just another reason why I hate doing laundry.
  2. Parking in the local yoga studio’s parking lot while I race across the street to buy a breakfast pastry. I mean, who wants to feed a parking meter for 5 minutes of parking anyway? I can only imagine the judgmental glares the yoga girls are giving me in between their Down Dog and Mountain poses.
  3. When your husband’s fifth grade cousin is inches away from surpassing you in height, so you decide to nurse your wounded ego by spending some time looming over his kindergarten cousin and reestablishing your sense of identity. Because mature adults are supposed to be taller than fifth graders, goll dang it. Looks like I’ve got to get myself a few more pairs of high heels…bummer… 😉
  4. Walking fifteen minutes from our apartment to Darrin’s office at the university only to realize, while standing right outside Darrin’s office door with our heavy backpacks, that we forgot to bring the keys. This is what I like to call “Forgetful Fitness”—extra exercise brought about by your own forgetfulness. Forgetting your keys on your bedside table = stair climbers, forgetting your purse in the car = speed walk, forgetting to turn off your curling iron = sprints…the kind of exercise that’ll sneak up on you when you least expect it and make you throw your head back and shout “WHHHYY??!” to the universe.

That’s all for now, folks!

Hope you have a great Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

I can’t even begin to tell you how clumsy I am and it’s snowing here today…it was supposed to be 50 degrees!
