Less-Than-Graceful Moments!

Sometimes Gracefully Grocery Store

Happy Monday! Hopefully your weekend was full of sappy, lovey-dovey moments that made your insides all warm and fuzzy and gushy. Darrin and I spent one third of our Valentine’s Day studying in a windowless corner of the university, another third at the outlet mall (HE GETS ME), and a final third cooking and eating two steaks for dinner, both of which were almost larger than my head.

It was a successful Valentimes.

But here are a few less-than-graceful moments from yours truly to start this week!

  1. Parking garages. Why do I have a slight fear of parking garages? Could it be because my card never seems to work when I’m trying to enter a parking garage? And then the line of cars begins to grow behind me as I swipe my credit card for the thousandth time, praying that the stupid bar will raise and I’ll be allowed to enter the parking lot promise land. There’s honking. Huffing. Puffing. And eventually drivers leaving and searching for another lot that isn’t blocked by my apparent incompetence. I MEAN UGH.
  2. I confess that Darrin and I have been trying to imitate THESE dance moves. Even bought ourselves a few Kickstarts to achieve the “full-effect”…whatever that means.
  3. I forgot to take a sappy-sweet Valentine’s Day picture with Darrin throughout the day, so I asked if he would be willing to take a quick picture with me in our grocery store’s parking lot. He obliged (what a guy). You wouldn’t guess from the photo above that we were surrounded by cars searching for parking spaces and old ladies carting their groceries. Valentine’s Day photo SUCCESS.
  4. Remember those monstrously sized steaks that we bought? Finished mine. Well before Darrin. And I immediately gained this sudden urge to go camping and grow a beard and eat beef jerky while wearing lots of plaid and smelling like a pine tree. Finishing a steak the size of your head will do that to ya.

Have a great start to your week!
