Leather And Lace And Our State Fair Food Booth

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Hey there, Thursday!

I’ve always been a major fan of the whole “leather and lace” fashion combination because I like the idea of arriving to an afternoon tea party on a Harley Davidson without having to change. You can wear your motorcycle leather with your delicate, tea party lace. It’s simply pure practicality. Now all I’m missing is a motorcycle…and an invitation to afternoon tea…luckily I’ve got this cute bag by Mellow World to add a little color to the black and white ensemble. Next on the list is this baby {insert smiley face with hearts for eyes}.

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Speaking of unusual combinations, the Minnesota State Fair just released the new foods for this summer’s Fair, and I may or may not have drooled a little while browsing through the list. A Hot Toasted Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich? Deep-Fried Buckeyes?! Pretzel Curds?!! I suppose Darrin and I will have to try every new food item we find this year, including the SnoRibbons and Prime Rib Tacos. It’s only “fair,” right? {Pun definitely intended.}

All these new food booths and strange food combinations had Darebear and I brainstorming what type of food booth we’d open at the Fair, if we had the time and ambition and any desire to make our mark on the food industry. I was thinking that we’d open a booth that featured some of our family’s “secret recipes”…like my grandma’s blueberry dessert or my mother-in-law’s homemade noodles. Darrin had football on the brain, so, in honor of the longtime rivalry between the Minnesota Gophers and the Wisconsin Badgers, he proposed that we would serve deep-fried badgers on a stick.

“In honor of the rivalry, Gracie….”

Thankfully we don’t have to cross that bridge. 😉

What about you? Got any State Fair favorites of your own that you love??
