That Keeps On Giving

Usually, the post-Christmas shopping can be a nightmare. Long lines, crowded aisles, returns, exchanges, and a whole lot of “we only offer in-store credit”s can really put a damper on the major discounts and savings so colorfully broadcasted in each store window. Despite all of these characteristics, my family and I decided to venture out to the Mall of America the other day for some post-Christmas returns and shopping. Yes. The Mall of America. Headquarters for all things “crazy” when it comes to the post-Christmas shopping chaos. And “crazy” it sure was: wailing babies, shoulder bumping, long checkout lines, long dressing room lines, long women’s restroom lines {per usual}…but despite the crazy, I returned home with a new and heavily discounted winter coat {three cheers for Nordstrom Rack!} and an afternoon well spent with my sisters.

Darrin also did a little post-holiday shopping over the weekend, and his most recent purchase of another Xbox controller apparently means that I have a lot of video gaming practice that needs to happen. You can do it, Gracie! I can teach you all of the controls. You’d be so good at this game, Gracie. We’ll play in multi-player mode and I promise you’ll be better once you practice more. Your virtual character constantly dying is all a part of the process….

A second Xbox controller: the gift that just keeps on giving.

If you need me, I’ll be here on my living room couch during my free time, watching my virtual Batman character crash into buildings and receive a large number of punches to the stomach. Sorry, Batman. Apparently it’s all a part of the process…

P.S. You can shop this warm sweater from Old Navy below!

Love that sweater & booties. Cute look & I commend your bravery for going to the MOA on the 26th. Wow. But so happy you had fun & found some deals despite the crazy factor. 🙂
