Fancy Pants For The Comfy Girl.

Meet my new favorite summer pant: the track pant. Word on the fashion street is that it’s socially acceptable to not only wear track pants with heels but to also wear track pants that feel like pajama pants to fancy dinners. Which basically means that PJs are the new “dinner dress.” And I’m all about wearing pajamas out to dinner. Especially when they give off the “I’m faaancy” vibe. I’ll admit that there’s nothing better than wine tasting from your living room couch while wearing your pajamas, but I do like the idea of bringing that “pajama comfort” to the happy hours happening down the street. Well done, fashion world. Keep these ideas coming.

If you were to visit our tiny apartment last night, you’d find me sipping a glass of wine while Darrin procrastinates doing his research by playing the new FIFA World Cup video game for the Xbox. I’ve grown up loving and playing soccer, but Darrin, your typical “I only love American basketball, football, and baseball” sports fanatic, is just hopping on the “futbol train.” Soccer is so incredibly fascinating, and the sport is certainly demanding on the body and requires an entirely unique set of skills. Darrin and I decided that we’d like to attend a World Cup match one day, most likely in the distant future {when we have “real jobs” and can afford the outrageous ticket prices}. Bring on the crazy crowds and multitudes of languages jammed together in one stadium.

We’re planning on making brackets for the tournament this year, and we’ll most definitely be spending June 12 – July 13 watching as many games as we can from the comforts of our living room couch {while wearing my pajama “fancy pants,” obviously}.  I’ll admit that the chance the USA has for advancing in the tournament is pretty low {No thanks to Ghana and Portugal being in our pool}, but Darrin has nevertheless ordered his USA team jersey and is researching his star players.

Poor guy. He’s used to cheering for losing teams, what with being a die-hard Minnesota sports fan and all….at least he’s loyal! I’m not too concerned about wins and losses. I’m just ready to watch a whole lot of soccer with the hubby. And I’m going to need somebody to shout at the refs through the television screen with me. Might as well be Darrin! 😉

Those pants are so cute!! Love how you styled them! I don’t know too much about soccer… Other than David Beckham. But that’s more due to H+M than his soccer ability. Oops!!!
