Last night was Taco Tuesday over here in Minneapolis. Taco Tuesday has become somewhat of a weekly ritual for us during this spring semester. I don’t have to run off to night class, Darrin doesn’t need to work late in the lab, and “the taco” is the most creative recipe we can come up with during the busy academic year. So, Taco Tuesday.
I don’t exactly know when our Taco Tuesday “cooking code” formulated, or whether we’ve ever acknowledged that Darrin and I do, in fact, abide by this silent code while we’re preparing dinner, but it’s there nevertheless: Darrin cooks the meat on the stove, I prepare the vegetables, and we both sip from cold mugs filled with a mixture of Diet Coke and grenadine (the only way to do Cherry Coke, if you ask me). It’s funny how those silent codes form over time. Codes that come from doing the ordinary together and not minding one bit.
While we were cooking, I asked Darrin what I should write about in this little blog post, and he told me that I should talk about Enrique Iglesias. So, without further ado, here’s a little Enrique for your Tuesday. You can thank my incredibly Dutch and nowhere near Spanish husband.

Also, this darling bucket bag of mine is from Mellow World, and Sometimes Gracefully readers can receive 10% off their handbag purchase using code SOMETIMESGRACEFULLY when you checkout! Which is “tres awesome,” as they say in fake French.
