Cartoon World

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Darrin and I are big fans of spending our Saturday mornings in our pajamas, eating waffles, and watching Saturday morning cartoons. There’s something relaxing about letting your mind drift into “cartoon world,” where the characters you meet are just as bright as the colors onscreen. My favorite show growing up was Recess. I loved that show. I’d race off the bus, run home, pop myself a bag of microwave popcorn, and end my day watching T.J. and the gang fight off the crazy kindergarteners or hide from The Ashely’s. I mean, what a brilliant concept! A kids show that takes place during the best time of day for any gradeschooler: recess. Darrin grew up watching Batman The Animated Series {of course}. That’s where his current comic book obsession with The Dark Knight began. I also loved Street Sharks {sharks on roller blades = brilliant} and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles {beat the bad guys. eat some pizza. genius.}.

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

I kind of feel bad for the current generation of kids who don’t have sweet shows like Recess or Hey Arnold! to watch on Saturday mornings. If I could find the entire series of Recess on DVD, I’d buy it in a heartbeat and spend my entire Saturday catching up with the gang.

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

Did you have a favorite television show growing up? Or, if you’re a Recess fan like me, do you remember a favorite episode? Those things just stick with ya sometimes!

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for reading! 🙂

Back in the day I spent all of Saturday morning waiting for Fat Albert to come on. All the cartoons before it were fun, but Fat Albert was the one I wanted to see.

The Wild Thornberrys! I found the episodes at Best Buy and I saw that they had Hey Arnold as well. Maybe check them for Recess?

I have a huge love for 90s cartoons. Recess was one of the best for sure! I’m seriously going to have to track down all of my favorite old shows on dvd!
