Darrin and I ventured down to the Mississippi River the other day for a little evening walk. Fall colors are by far my favorite, and I married a man with hair that is consistently “fall” all year round, so I’ve currently got the best of both worlds right now and it’s marvelous.
In the bridge picture above, you can see the Stone Arch bridge tucked down the river, right below the skyline. I love living so close to the downtown area. Yes, eventually I’d like to have a yard and a house of our own, but right now, our little apartment along the river suits us wonderfully.
Our school semester is winding down, but that certainly doesn’t mean our work load is any lighter. We both have papers to write, research to conduct, and books to read. To avoid driving ourselves crazy with stress and academic pressure, I snagged some Vikings tickets from a friend of mine for Thursday night’s game. You can bet we’ll both be sporting our jerseys as we walk to Mall of America Field…even though our poor Vikings team is performing horribly this year. But such is the burden of being a Minnesota sports team fan. As Darrin always says, “Gracie, we’ve got to be loyal to the end!”
I respect that, Darebear. In a sports fan and in a husband. Work it. 😉
Minnesota is supposed to be attacked by a monstrous snowstorm tomorrow night, so I’m hoping that November continues to play nicely and gives us just a few more weeks of autumn. I’m not through with this light-jacket weather just yet.
But come November 29th, I’ll be busting out the Christmas decor and blasting the holiday tunes of Frank Sinatra. Then Minnesota has my permission to bring on the snow! 🙂
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
