Last night was the perfect “walk around the neighborhood holding your husband’s hand and basically singing Disney love songs in your head” kind of night, here in Minneapolis. The wind was warm, the mosquitoes were scarce, and there was live music playing at the park across the street. As much as I love a good night out with Darebear, last night we chose to ignore all of those “it’s the perfect summer night to be outside” kinds of signs. Instead, we camped out on our living room couch, indulging in superhero cartoons, Butterfinger ice cream, and jelly beans. No live music. No walks through the park. Just a night of warm blankets, fluffy pillows, soft pajamas, and a whole lot of sugar. We talked about whether or not we were being “too boring” on such an awesome summer night…how we might have missed some event happening downtown or could have tried a new restaurant in the area. But then we decided that we simply didn’t care. If “boring” means eating food that we love, keeping cozy in our home, and spending another night talking and laughing and cuddling in front of a movie, then sign me up for all things “boring.” Those kind of nights sound more like everyday adventures and joys, if ya ask me.
