In A Blue Mood

Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully Sometimes Gracefully

After that heartbreaking loss for the USA National Soccer Team, Darebear and I were feeling pretty blue around the apartment…so I figured that this all-blue look would be fitting for our day of World Cup mourning. What a game! Darrin and I were pacing, jumping up and down, shouting, “EEEEEK!!”-ing, bouncing, stress-eating, and practically pulling our hair out the entire 120 minutes. Talk about an emotional roller coaster.

After the game, we moped around our apartment for awhile, suffering through all five stages of the grieving process over our beloved team. Of course, as Minnesota sports fans (Vikings, Wild, Gophers, Twins…), we’re pretty used to cheering for our lovable losing teams. But as bummed as I am about the USA losing to Belgium, I have to admit that I’ve had the best time watching this year’s World Cup with Darrin. We’ve been researching teams and players and analyzing each game. We bought ourselves team jerseys, and we’ve been binge eating to relieve our game-watching anxieties {praise the good Lord for Skittles and Doritos…}. I’m a major fan of sharing in and valuing the things your spouse loves. Darebear has taught me a whole lot about football and Batman over the years. I now have a strong attachment to a Minnesota football team that I originally didn’t know even existed, and I could probably tell you too many random facts about The Dark Knight and his graphic novel adventures. But this World Cup has been such a fun way to share something that I love with my open-minded hubby. Even if our favorite team’s loss was a heart breaker.

Pass the Doritos, I guess.

Anyways, I hope you have a great Wednesday despite the loss! You can shop this look {including these incredibly comfy Old Navy shorts} below!

My entire facebook feed was in the stages of mourning last I checked, but it was heartwarming to see so many previously unknown soccer fans. You look really happy and cute, even if the outfit was for a sad occasion 🙂

    Another Beautiful Thing

I know, that game was a heartbreaker! Your outfit is so cute and it is very appropriate to be feeling blue today.

Lol, what a great post. You are hilarious. Sigh, there were similar feelings in this house too. On the upside you look great!
