Last Saturday, Darrin and I spent the majority of our morning and afternoon locked in the dungeons of the University. Sure, the weather outside was beautiful: blue skies, bright sunshine, cartoon birds practically singing from the trees. Unfortunately, Mr. Sunshine and Mr. Academia apparently share somewhat of a strained relationship, so we were forced to spend most of our day squinting at our computer screens rather than the sunlight. Thanks a lot, grad school.
But you want to know the weirdest thing about last Saturday? The goll darned strangest thing that hasn’t occurred once in my almost 3 years of happily married life?
Mr. Darebear himself woke up at 6am last Saturday morning. SIX A.M. There was no groaning. No snooze button hitting. The anti-early bird is growing his own pair of wings and joining me in my early morning routines. This is good news, folks. When Darrin is awake, Darrin is hungry, so Darrin makes the most delicious omelets, and Darrin’s really cool wife looooooves the smell of eggs, bacon, and coffee as she’s getting dressed in the morning.
Oh. And I got a haircut. So that’s new too.
