It looks like wardrobe “basics” are going to be my go-to for the rest of this month. Heck, the rest of this pregnancy. Darrin and I are moving at the end of the month, and we’ve spent the last week packing up as much as our apartment as we can. Whenever we can. And with whatever energy we can muster because my goodness is packing your entire life away in cardboard boxes exhausting.
We’ve tried to stay as organized as possible throughout our packing process. Labeling each box and bin with descriptive phrases that we hope will make the unpacking process a whole lot easier. But as the days go by and the boxes begin to crowd not only our front entryway but also my mental stability, my descriptive labels have become less and less helpful. I nearly wrote “STUFF” and “CRAP WE PROBABLY DON’T NEED” on at least two separate boxes of exactly that. I mean, that’s still pretty informative, right?
Honestly, we’re all exhausted over here. Moving. Pregnancy. And we’re trying to clean out the food in our fridge and cupboards before our last official day, which makes for a number of creative meal combinations (i.e. yogurt, Cheez-its, cherries, and peanut butter toast for dinner).
But I’ve got my first baby shower coming up, and I think my excitement for spending an afternoon with friends, family, and friends that practically are family is helping me push through the chaos that the moving process can be. Plus, according to my sister, I hear there’ll be cake at the shower. And cake, quite honestly, makes everything (even an exhausted pregnant woman who only has 10 weeks left of her pregnancy) just SO. MUCH. BETTER.
Stay cool out there, friends!
