Minneapolis appears to be making up for all of those autumns that were either too short or too chilly or too something or rather, because the weather lately has been the kind of “I can’t believe it’s not horrible” weather that really makes you want to crunch leaves and carve pumpkins and have bonfires and the like {i.e. this and this and this and rainbow}. Darrin and I will most likely head to the apple orchard this weekend for some good ol’ fashioned apple cider and apple donuts {cue angelic “Ahhh!”s}. You’d think we were decorating our apartment for Halloween, what with all the creepy sweaters and dresses that are currently hang-drying over the door frames of each room. Thumbs up for getting laundry done; thumbs down for being too lazy to find the dryer rack. I woke up last night to use the restroom and just about peed my pants when I encountered the shadowy silhouettes of Darrin’s button-down polos seemingly “floating” in mid-air throughout our dark apartment. The situation was a bit more The Haunting than it was Casper the Friendly Ghost, which is just not my particular cup of Halloween tea. I did tell Darrin, however, that he has to read Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” with me on Halloween, because. Just because. It’s Poe, you guys. If we can’t read Poe on Halloween, WHEN ON EARTH CAN WE.

Speaking of scary things, Darrin and I are almost through the ginormous pack of bacon that we bought at one of those BUY EVERYTHING IN BULK OR BUST stores the other week. I don’t even know how we ploughed through so much bacon. Or how our arteries are holding up {say that sentence fives times fast…}. Whatever the case, I’m here to proclaim that we do believe in vegetables and salads and leaves and lettuce and grass and all that green stuff. Apparently our love for bacon is just too strong to be overcome by a bag of spinach. At least that’s what the mushy old bag of spinach at the bottom of my fridge is muttering to me.

Shall we continue with this post that’s currently lacking clear signs of coherence and logical transitions? Sure! Why not! It’s a Thursday!

Speaking of Thursdays {smoooooth transition…}, the dogs at the apartment dog park are currently loving that it’s a Thursday. There’s a whole lot of tongue flapping, happy barking, and four-legged bouncing going on, so maybe we’ll just end this strange post with pictures of happy animals {#41, everybody}.

Have a great day! This sweet top from J. Crew Factory is currently on sale below! Woof!

    So lovely and cozy!

All this ivy makes me miss my college days of old ivy-covered buildings so much! You’ll have to take another set here in a few weeks when the ivy has peaked even more.
