Gripping my stomach in blog pictures is apparently the “new norm” around here, partly to show off the ever-growing bump but mostly to remind myself that yes, I am growing a baby and no, carrot cake does not count as a healthy vegetable option for baby’s growing body. If only I could convince my taste buds that celery sticks are really just Kit Kat bars in disguise…eating vegetables would just be so much easier.
Our dear friends from Iowa our visiting this weekend. Just in time for the spring sunshine and seventy-degree temperatures! Darrin and I, to celebrate the occasion (at least that’s what we’re telling ourselves) bought three boxes of different ice cream “novelties,” as they’re called at the grocery store: chocolate dipped drumsticks, Twix bars, and fudge pops. Because when life presents you with a legitimate excuse to stock up on ice cream treats, you take it. And you don’t ask any questions or even contemplate that stupid “lips” and “hips” rhyme. I mean, the pack of drumsticks we bought are dipped in almonds…and almonds are nuts…and nuts are healthy for baby!
Pregnancy brain logic is really the best kind of logic.
So: sunshine, seventy-degrees, good friends, and ice cream treats. We’re SO ready for ya, Mr. Weekend.
