A Little Bit of the Weekend

MinneapolisDarrin and I hosted our married friends from college this past weekend, and it was such a great time showing them the “hot spots” of our little neighborhood! We were regular tour guides, minus the corny jokes and neon fanny packs. Darrin and Marty bonded over their dissertation topics and scientific discoveries while Julie and I rolled our eyes at their nerdiness. Our life is “The Big Bang Theory.” And if you haven’t seen that show, I recommend closing your laptop immediately and renting season one. We’re addicted.

We walked, biked, chatted, drank, laughed, and fell asleep each night to Batman cartoons. How could that not be an enjoyable weekend?! There are some friendships that don’t need a lot of work. They just are. And there is such comfort in effortless friendships. Where simply being together is enough. It’s too bad these two don’t live closer. Iowa doesn’t deserve them!

I hope your weekends went by wonderfully! Did anyone try any fun drinks? That pink drink above in that lovely mason jar is a Strawberry Basil Mimosa. And it was just as divine as it looks! Happy Sunday night!

I happen to love The Big Bang Theory, I want my own Lenard. 🙂

And I love those friendships too, they are rare, but they are worth the waiting (I have noticed that those exist only if you two live in different cities/states).

Yes! The Big Bang Theory is a great show! And I agree about those friendships. Absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder! And more excited for visits! 🙂
